( PERSONALITY ) : Redtail can be somewhat short with kits or apprentices who annoy him. Most go no where near him, some learn from experience or warnings. Dustpaw almost had a heart-attack when he was to be his apprentice. Although once the apprentices learn how to act around him he doesn't have a problem with them. He is not really a mean cat he just doesn't like young cats who get things right. He is still might have somethings to learn about tolerance to the young ones of the clan, though. He is a loyal friend to those few who he does.

He has no problem with she-cats. Only when they get a little too close. When that happens he gets flustered and nervous. he would love a mate. He just has no absolute idea how to get one. It doesn't help that when he's confused or doesn't know what to do he becomes a tad bit rude.

He loves the forrest. All the times, anytime. When he doesn't know what to do he goes there. This is why he hates twolegs, they try to take him away from it, or take it away from him. If you can't find him in camp, its unlikly you'll find him if he doesn't want to be found. It irratates a lot of people, but when he gets back he seems a lot more tolerble and able to deal w/ more stuff.

( OTHERS ) : He had one daughter Sandpaw with Brindleface once. His current apprentice is Dustpaw
( HISTORY ) : As a kit he loved playing with his littermates, Willowpelt and Spottedleaf. He was always a kit sticking his nose where it shouldn't be. Its actually ironic due to the fact he hates that; dening it everytime he is questioned about it. Taking on bigger kits and the occsional apprentice he never missed a chance to practice to impress his mentor.

When the day came where he was to be apprenticed he was excited when Half-tail stepped forward. He was a strudy little cat and learned quickly. A littel too quickly some might say for he would get bored if he already knew or didn't have enough to do so he would get into mischife. Half-tail's hard work paid off though, for when he wass made a warrior he was 100% ready. Maybe even more so.

He sat his vigil like every other newly made warrior before him. He might let a complain slip once or twice past his lips but it was very rare. When it did happen something was either terribly wrong or it was a bad, bad, bad day. He went on his patrols and did them with a persistance he still has today. Still he wanted something more.

He was deeply remorse as the deputy before him was lying on the clearing ground. He griefed with the clan. Bluestar stepped forward and claimed Redtail as the deputy he was shocked, but excepted immeadiatly. He does his duty with grace. He hasn't complained once since being made a deputy.
(REASON): I didn't know who else to pick. Besides I feel the books gave him no justice I understand in Into the Wild,it was called for and added a lot of spice into the plot. But they should have in Bluestar's Prophecy. I was interested in his background but we never saw it.

It looks good so far, just be sure to let us know when it's finished. There are a few things you could be thinking about when you're doing your edits though:

The basics part is perfect. you can just delete the (snowpaw/step) thing. That was just an example. And I'm betting you put deputy possibly because you saw the 'high positions have to be auditioned for' part? Sorry about that. this application I first made for a site whre deputies, leaders and medicine cats were auditioned for. That doesn't happen here. Redtail's deputy automatially. Sorry about the confusion. One day I'll delete it . . .

your likes/dislike section needs at least 3 per section. Thats 3 likes, 3 dislikes, 3 strengths, and 3 weaknesses. For personality there needs to be three as well, but those need to be put as paragraphs as a cat's personality is a big part of them.

appearance is fine. Didn't see anything wrong with it.

For the history you need one paragraph per stage of life. One paragraph for kit, one for apprentice, one for warrior, and one for deputy. It helps add background for the cat and will help you and people role playing with you, be on the same page. If you decide you want to chane something you always can

Your role play sample was good, but I do have a few questions about it: Why did you put 'Redtail:' at the start of each paragraph, and why are there * in it? It probably isn't a bad thing, I'm just curious.

The only problems with doing it that way is one, it becomes difficult to read and 2, its only effective if there's more than one cat talking, 3, it takes away from the detail you might be able to add to the story. Compare:

Redtail looked out from the edge of the forest, dropping the mouse he had just caught, then turn and raced into the camp. The day was growing late and cats were still sharing tongues. He hated to interupt whatever training advice she was giving but what he had to say was more important. "Riverclan is trying to take sunningrocks!"
